Varicose Surgeries

Varicose vein surgery is a surgical procedure that is generally applied in the treatment of lower extremity (leg) varicose veins. Varicose veins is a vascular disease in which the vascular wall is weak, enlarged and deformed. This causes blood to flow backwards and pool, eventually leading to symptoms such as pain, swelling, fatigue, cramping and skin problems. Varicose vein surgery is performed using different methods to remove or close varicose veins. This procedure is usually done under local anesthesia and may require a short hospital stay.

Aesthetic Phlebology

Aesthetic phlebology is a method used in the treatment of varicose veins and its main purpose is to provide both treatment and aesthetic appearance. With this method, the thin and elegant veins, especially in the legs, are treated. With the applications on the skin, the visibility of these vessels is reduced and a more aesthetic appearance is obtained.

Since aesthetic phlebology is a method that does not require surgical intervention, it allows patients to quickly return to their daily activities after treatment. In addition, the veins treated with this method are less likely to reoccur in the future.

Deep Vein Thrombosis

Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT), commonly known as a deep vein clot, is a serious medical condition. This condition usually occurs in the deep veins of the legs and can cause symptoms such as leg pain, swelling, warmth, redness and skin discoloration. The clot can lead to a pulmonary embolism (PE), which can cause a blockage in the lungs and can be life-threatening.

DVT can be caused by a variety of factors, including inactivity, prolonged sitting or bed rest, excess weight, hormonal medications, and hereditary factors. DVT treatment may include treatments such as blood thinners, compression stockings, and exercises.

Intrapake Laser Ablation

Anthrapake Laser Ablation (EVLA) is a method used for the treatment of varicose veins. In this method, a thin laser fiber is inserted into the affected vein and the damaged sections in the walls of the vein are closed using the laser heating principle. This helps to ensure the normal flow of blood and reduce varicose veins.

The procedure is performed under local anesthesia and is usually painless. It is thought that EVLA is less invasive and causes fewer complications compared to other varicose vein treatment methods.

Healing Process

The recovery process after varicose vein surgery may vary depending on the type of surgery and the patient’s personal characteristics. In general, however, swelling, pain and bruising may occur in the legs during the first week after surgery. This is normal and will subside within 2-3 weeks. Generally, patients can return to their normal activities within 2-4 weeks after surgery.
