Root Canal Treatment- Endodontics
Root canal treatment is the process of removing the tissue called pulp inside the tooth for reasons such as infection or inflammation and filling it with a special filling material. The pulp inside the tooth contains blood vessels and nerves and is necessary for the tooth to be healthy. But in some cases, inflammation or infection occurs in this tissue and can harm the health of the tooth.
Root canal treatment is recommended when there is pain, general sensitivity or sensitivity to hot or cold foods and beverages due to infection or inflammation in the teeth. In addition, root canal treatment may be required if the pulp is damaged as a result of tooth decay or injury.
Healing Process
The healing process after root canal treatment can vary from person to person, but usually within a few days the pain and discomfort will begin to subside. A slight feeling of pain or tenderness is normal after the anesthetic used during the procedure wears off, but this usually subsides within a few days.
