Nose Aesthetics – Rhinoplasty

Rhinoplasty is an aesthetic surgical procedure performed to change the shape and size of the nose, to obtain a more symmetrical and balanced appearance. Nose aesthetics is also called rhinoplasty. Rhinoplasty can be performed for medical reasons such as nasal congestion and respiratory problems, as well as aesthetic concerns.

After Rhinoplasty

After rhinoplasty, patients usually feel swelling, bruising, nasal congestion and mild pain for a few days. In some cases, splints or tampons in the nose may remain inside the nose for several days. This helps maintain the shape of the nose and prevent bleeding. Our doctor will make an appointment for removal of tampons or splints.

What To Do

  • During the first few days, it is important to cool the face and nose area frequently with ice to reduce possible swelling and bruising.
  • Keeping the head elevated can speed up the healing process by reducing swelling and blood circulation.
  • Avoiding hot, spicy foods and consuming soft foods for a few days after surgery can reduce sensitivity in the nose area.

What You Should Avoid

  • Intense activities and exercises should be suspended.
  • You should not be exposed to direct sunlight for a few days.
  • Smoking and alcohol can negatively affect the healing process, so it’s important to avoid them for a few weeks after surgery.
