Under Eye Bag – Lower Blepharoplasty

Under-eye bag surgery is a plastic surgery procedure to remove bags under the eyes. Under-eye bags can be caused by aging, genetic factors or lack of sleep, and can create an old or tired appearance around the eyes. After the procedure, the under-eye area of the person gains a tighter and younger appearance.

How is Lower Blepharoplasty Performed?

Under-eye bag surgery is a procedure that is usually performed under local anesthesia. During the procedure, the surgeon removes or reshapes the fatty tissue in the under-eye area and tightens the skin. This procedure usually reduces puffiness in the under-eye area, smoothes the skin and provides a more youthful appearance.

About one week of rest is recommended for the recovery process in lower blepharoplasty surgery. It may be obvious that you have had eyelid surgery for a little over a week. You should not drive for a few days after the surgery. It may take several weeks for bruises, scars and redness to subside.
