Genital Aesthetic Surgery

Genital aesthetics refers to plastic surgery procedures performed to change or correct the appearance of the genital area of women and men. It covers different procedures such as genital aesthetics, vagina aesthetics, labiaplasty, penile aesthetics.

The most common genital aesthetic procedure among women is labiaplasty. Labiaplasty is a surgical procedure performed to correct the shape, size and symmetry of the lips called labia minora and labia majora in the external genitalia of women.

In men, genital aesthetic procedures called penile aesthetics are performed more frequently. Penile aesthetics may involve various surgical procedures to increase penile size, correct conditions such as penile hump (peyronie’s) or improve the appearance of the penis.

Genital aesthetic procedures can increase a person’s self-confidence and positively affect their sexual life.

How is Genital Aesthetics Performed?

Genital plastic surgery is performed using different techniques depending on the procedure to be applied. For example, a procedure performed under local anesthesia is generally preferred for labiaplasty, while a procedure performed under general anesthesia is preferred for penile aesthetics.

During the labiaplasty procedure, the surgeon makes the incisions necessary to correct the shape, size or symmetry of the lips. Then, when necessary, it removes the adipose tissue or other tissues, allowing the lips to be brought into the desired shape. During the procedure, the surgeon can also correct other aesthetic problems in the external genitalia.

Procedures applied for penile aesthetics include penis enlargement, penile hump correction, penis size reduction or penile appearance correction. Penis enlargement is usually accomplished with fillers injected into the shaft of the penis or surgically placed prostheses. Penis hump correction is done to remove or straighten the humpback area. Penis reduction can be applied in cases where the penis size is large and when the person is uncomfortable.

Healing Process

After the labiaplasty procedure, patients may experience pain, swelling and bruising, usually for a few days. Therefore, it is recommended to reduce pain and swelling by resting and applying ice. It is recommended to take a shower instead of a bath for a few days after the procedure, and sexual activities may need to be avoided.

After penile aesthetic procedures, patients may experience pain, swelling and bruising for a few days. Depending on the procedure, it may be necessary to wear a supportive corset for a week or two. It is also recommended to avoid sexual activities and heavy exercise.

What To Do

  • You may need to use support corsets for a certain period of time after the operation.
  • Apply ice to reduce pain, swelling and bruising that may occur after the procedure.
  • Pay attention to wound care and clean as recommended by our doctor.

What You Should Avoid

  • Avoid sexual activities for the specified period after surgery.
  • You should avoid heavy exercise or excessive physical activity for the first few days.
  • Avoid clothing that can damage the wound area.
  • For the first few days, you should avoid toxic substances such as alcohol and cigarettes. These substances can adversely affect the healing process.
  • Avoid taking hot showers or baths in the first few weeks after the operation. This can increase the risk of infection at the surgical site.
