Dental Implant Treatment

A dental implant is the process of placing an artificial tooth root to replace a lost tooth. Implants are placed in the jawbone and integrate with the bone within a few months. This process is completed by placing the implants under the gum and placing a dental prosthesis on top of it. Implants can be used in place of bridges or dentures and perform the same function as natural teeth.

Dental implant treatment is used to protect oral health and jaw structure after tooth loss and is a long-lasting solution.

Healing Process

In the first few days after the dental implant, symptoms such as pain, swelling and slight bleeding may be seen in the area where the dental implants are placed. These symptoms are caused by the effect of pressure on the jawbones and normally subside within a few days.

What To Do

  • After dental implants are placed, oral hygiene is very important. Brush, floss and gargle regularly as recommended by our doctor.
  • After removing the stitches on the implants, do regular check-ups as recommended by our doctor.
  • Clean your dentures regularly as recommended by our doctor. This helps prevent problems like gum infections and bad breath.

What You Should Avoid

  • For the first few weeks, avoid chewing and consuming hard foods with dentures. It is better to consume soft foods.
  • Avoid using hard and sharp objects on dental implants. This can cause damage to the implants and gum infections.
  • Smoking and alcohol consumption can cause many serious problems such as gum infections and failure of implants. It is important to avoid smoking and alcohol consumption during the dental implant treatment process.
  • Avoid applying too much pressure to dental implants. This can cause damage or failure of the implants.
