Cataract Surgery
Cataract surgery is a surgical procedure performed for the treatment of people who have vision loss due to cloudiness in the eye. Cataracts occur because the lens of the eye becomes cloudy or loses its transparency. This prevents light from falling behind the eye, resulting in blurry images and loss of clear vision.
How Cataract Surgery Is Performed?
Cataract surgery is usually performed under local anesthesia and is performed under a surgical microscope. Our doctor enters through a small incision in the front of the eye, removes the cloudy lens and replaces it with an artificial lens.
Healing Process
After cataract surgery, most patients recover quickly and can return to their normal activities. The healing process usually takes several weeks, and during this time it should be taken into account that the eyes are sensitive and the use of drops may be required continuously.
