Breast Augmentation Surgery

Breast augmentation is a method used to increase the breast size of women as a cosmetic surgery procedure. This procedure is usually performed by placing silicone gel implants under the breast tissue. Breast augmentation is possible only with fat transfer, without implantation. This process is also called Autologous Breast Augmentation. Breast augmentation can help women feel better and have fuller breasts.

How is Breast Augmentation Performed?

Breast augmentation is usually performed under general or local anesthesia according to the patient’s preference. The procedure is performed through an incision under the breast or under the nipple and a pocket is created where the implant will be placed. The silicone implant is then placed in this pocket and the placement process is completed.

Healing Process

After the breast augmentation procedure, some side effects such as mild pain, swelling and bruising, which may last for a few days, may occur. After the surgery, the breasts should be supported with a special bra for several weeks. You can return to work in the first week and resume your routine life after 4-6 weeks.

What To Do

  • You may need to use a bra or bandage for a certain period of time after the operation.
  • During the first few days after the operation, you should lie on your back while lying down. This will help reduce swelling.

What You Should Avoid

  • You should avoid heavy exercise or excessive physical activity for the first few days.
  • For the first few days, you should avoid toxic substances such as alcohol and cigarettes. These substances can adversely affect the healing process.
  • Avoid taking hot showers or baths in the first few weeks after the operation. This can increase the risk of infection at the surgical site.
  • After the procedure, you should avoid exposure to water such as pool, sea and jacuzzi for a certain period of time. Water can increase the risk of infection of the treated area and delay the healing process.
