Body Lift Surgery

Body lift surgery is a surgical procedure that is usually performed to fix sagging skin after obesity. This procedure can be applied to correct sagging in different parts of the body such as the lower abdomen, hips, thighs, arms and chest. Body lift surgery is an effective option to correct sagging skin.

How is Body Lift Surgery Performed?

The surgery is usually performed under general anesthesia and our doctor makes the necessary incisions to correct sagging skin. These incisions may vary depending on the area where the surgery will be performed. For example, for a body lift surgery performed in the lower abdomen, the incisions may be below the bikini line or in the groin area.

Our doctor removes adipose tissue and underlying connective tissue when necessary to correct sagging skin. It is then closed by stretching the skin and suturing the incisions. During surgery, the muscles can also be tightened or reshaped.

Healing Process

After surgery, patients usually stay in the hospital for a few days and the recovery process takes several weeks. After surgery, the patient may need to wear a support corset for a certain period of time. This corset is used to accelerate the healing process and support the area where body sagging is corrected.

What To Do

  • You may need to use a corset or bandage for a certain period of time after the operation.

What You Should Avoid

  • You should avoid heavy exercise or excessive physical activity for the first few days.
  • For the first few days, you should avoid toxic substances such as alcohol and cigarettes. These substances can adversely affect the healing process.
  • Avoid taking hot showers or baths in the first few weeks after the operation. This can increase the risk of infection at the surgical site.
  • After the procedure, you should avoid exposure to water such as pool, sea and jacuzzi for a certain period of time. Water can increase the risk of infection of the treated area and delay the healing process.
